You no longer have to choose between the unlimited light source of a corded worklight, and the portable convenience of a battery-powered light. The cleverly designed DEWALT DC020 Worklight will run off a battery or you can plug it into a 120-volt wall outlet. How’s that for versatility? The compact, lightweight worklight will accept any DEWALT rechargeable battery between 12 and 18 volts, including NiCad, lithium ion or nickel metal hydride. It’ll shine continuously for about one hour on a fully charged 18-volt battery. The 38-watt fluorescent bulb emits a room-brightening 2,700 lumens, and it burns much cooler than halogen or incandescent bulbs; something you’ll appreciate when working in small, dark spaces, such as attics, closets, crawlspaces and under decks and porches. The DC020 is equipped with two auxiliary power outlets for conveniently plugging in electric tools or extension cords. Other features include: compact design that folds flat for storage, and a spring-loaded clamp that securely holds the battery in place during transport. It’s backed by DEWALT’s three-year limited warranty, 90-day money-back guarantee, and one-year free service contract. Battery and charger are sold separately.

I had the earlier version which would charge the DeWalt Ni-cad batteries. It shorted out. This unit will not recharge a battery, but will operate from one, either Nicad or the newer Lithium-ion batteries or A/C. I have 18 volt Li-ion batteries, but I believe it will also operate off of lesser voltage ones, just for a shorter time period. I have used it only a few times. The plumbers have actually used it more than I have. I keep it in its box and ready for use. It is bright, non-glaring, stable and easy to operate. It provides a lot of light and virtually no heat. I am happy with this purchase.
